Harnessing — Putting the Harness on the Horse

Take the reins by the buckle in the middle (M); straighten them until you reach the split, where the reins are spliced together (N). Fold them over at the split the put the fold under the backstrap (O).

Take the rest of the brown part of the reins, fold them in half and put the fold over the backstrap and through the loop made by the split under the backstrap (P). Pull the split loop tight (Q). Now the reins are held in place until you pull on the middle buckle.

Making sure the reins are straight, take the ends that buckle to the bit and feed them through the rein turrets (R). They can hang there until you are ready to connect them to the bit (S). |
