Lord Stirling CDE 2007

We were doubly blessed at Lord Stirling this year. First by the wonderful weather, no rain! And second, by the presence of Merridy Hance, a VSE whip from the northwest. She came to visit Martha Duchnowski and drove Martha's horse, Stormy at this event. Martha drove a pair, her experienced horse, Painted Angel and a youngster, Kara in the Training Division. Martha's son, Jimmy drove Love Bug in Preliminary. Margaret Henry drove Echo Falls Rhetts Socks and Jaye Ventresca drove Kamelot's Remington Steel in Preliminary.

Lord Stirling is always a lovely event with loads of friendly volunteers. This year's cones course was fun to drive, long and flowing. There were three sections for the Marathon; Section A, a trot section for warm-up, Section D, a walk and Section E with 3 obstacles. The water in the third obstacle was deemed too deep for VSEs so we had a shortened version with only A and B gates used. All the VSEs and their whips completed the course handily.
