Our three hour drive to York was made totally worthwhile by the well-organized management of the show committee and the friendly judging style of Susan Koso. Most of our ring classes were held in the main ring this year so we had quite a few spectators. There were six VSEs showing in the miniature horse division making it one of the larger divisions.
Margaret Henry driving Pam Corsa’s Echo Falls Apollo’s Brett won the Turnout Class. Judge Susan Koso had taken the time to check each turnout’s harness fit, whip length and carriage type before placing the class. She offered well-considered comments for improvement to all.
In the Working Pleasure Class Pegi Van De Water and Millbrook’s Desert Storm won the first place with second going to Suzanne Langenwalter and My Man Munch. In Reinsmanship Jaye Ventresca driving Echo Falls Rhett’s Kidlet took first.
Pegi Van De Water and Millbrook’s Desert Storm added her Papillion, Flipperdigibit, a.k.a. “Flip” to their turnout for the Coach Dog Class. Flip was pleased with his prize, a basket of dog goodies.
First place in both Timed Obstacles and Fault and Out Cones went to Martha Duchnowski and Painted Angel.
Pegi Van De Water and Millbrook’s Desert Storm also won the Pace Marathon to be Champion of the VSE Division and Reserve Champion of the whole show. |
